Ten Air Transat aircraft were grounded Sunday after the rudder
on an Airbus A310 "nearly fell off," according to the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation.

British military authorities are denying a report in the Sun
tabloid that a bomb planted on board a C-130 transport aircraft
caused it to crash near Baghdad January 30th.

Taking the aerospace world by surpise, Boeing has announced that
its Board of Directors asked for and received the resignation of
President and CEO Harry Stonecipher on Sunday, March 6.
EAA's annual air race for homebuilts, the EAA AirVenture Cup, is
now accepting entries for its eighth running. The one-day speed
dash begins at Ohio's Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport (MGY) on July

Union Workers Vote "Yes" On Concessions Aimed At Landing

Workers at Bombardier's Montreal facilities are willing to bet
their paychecks to land construction of the company's new C-series
regional jet. They approved a new concessionary contract over the
weekend by an overwhelming margin -- more than 90-percent voting
"yes."

British Historians To Scour Victoria Station For Luftwaffe

It was one of the most famous aerial duels of World War II. RAF
pilot Ray Holmes, desperately fighting the Battle of Britain, so he
fought with the only weapon he had left -- his own Hurricane. He
rammed the bomber, bringing it down over London on September 15th,
1940.
FAA reports that the new FAA Form 8710-11, for Airman
Certification and/or Rating Application - Sport Pilot, is now
available from FAA. It may be obtained from ASF-610 (Link below)
and is a PDF file. Examiner and instructors are expected to use
this form whenever performing sport pilot certification.

the museum has just announced plans for a $6.9 million expansion
that will be centered on a huge-screen IMAX theater.
Transportation Security Administration chief Adm. David Stone
faced criticism Thursday over what some view as his agency's
foot-dragging in reopening airports near Washington, DC, to general

Rocket Boosters (SRBs). The fuel tank and booster rockets will help

Three Days' Driving Goes Farther Than 70 Days In The Past
On three consecutive days, NASA's Mars Exploration Rover
Opportunity accomplished unprecedented feats of martian motion,
covering more total ground in that period than either Opportunity
or its twin, Spirit, did in their first 70 days on Mars.
With the passing of the new Sport Pilot/Light Sport Aircraft
rule, all light-sport aircraft are going to need N-numbers (3-inch
high) as well as other placards, including 2-inch high
'EXPERIMENTAL' placards (in the case of Experimental-LSA's) or
2-inch high 'LIGHT-SPORT' placards (in the case of
Special-LSA's).
