Historic Aircraft To Cross The Country September 10-15
Boeing and Jeppesen will sponsor the 2008 transcontinental
airmail re-enactment, a five-day cross-country trip that
commemorates the 90th anniversary of air mail service in the US and
honors pioneers of commercial aviation. Bill Boeing, Jr. is also
personally sponsoring the flight.

Européenne Has Nine On Order
Brazilian planemaker Embraer announced Friday it recently
delivered the first Embraer 170 jet to Régional –
Compagnie Aérienne Européenne, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of the Air France Group. This is the first of a total of
nine firm orders it has for the Embraer 170 from the French
airline.

On the heels of its second successful test of its SM-6
interceptor missile, Raytheon announced its Missile
Systems business recently completed an Earned Value Management
Systems compliance review by the Defense Contract Management
Agency. DCMA auditors found that Missile Systems passed all 32
guidelines.

Aerospace Workers Union, which will strike Boeing at 12:01 am
Saturday morning after last-minute negotiations between the two
sides failed. On Wednesday, IAM workers voted overwhelmingly to
reject Boeing's last contract proposal, and to authorize a strike.
Workers appeared restless, showing open disdain for the union's
agreement to postpone the walkout for 48 hours to give Boeing one
last chance to meet their demands.
