As Aero-News reported this
week, the matter of pilot retirement age has been at

hold a forum to consider adopting the standard recently enacted by
the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) that allows
pilots between the ages of 60-65 to fly commercial airliners under
certain conditions.
NIMBYs Use Accident As Rallying Cry Against Airport
The July downing of a vintage jet fighter near Hillsboro, OR has
ignited questions of residential encroachment near the airport...
and has even cast doubt on the future of the popular Oregon
International Air Show.
Buoyed by the success of the last three shuttle launches, NASA
is aiming to send Discovery into orbit a week earlier than the
planned December 14 launch date.
GAMA leaders and FAA representatives appeared before congress on
Thursday to discuss the impact very light jets (VLJ) will have on
the national airspace system -- not very much according to them.
Meanwhile, members of the Airline Transport Association (ATA) told
Bloomberg Thursday they would have a "significant" impact.
The FAA has proposed making a training program developed by
Mistubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) for its MU-2B aircraft mandatory
for all MU-2B pilots. The proposal comes on the heels of a spate of
accidents involving the high-performance twin.
LaQuardia's 42-year-old air traffic control tower, a leaky,

released funds for construction of a new facility on Thursday.

day. There may well be VFR airplanes operating legally in poor
conditions very close to the ground-requiring you to maneuver to
follow them in.
For our northern readers in Canada or any US snowbirds that have
headed north for the summer there are several aviation museums that
will be in Aero-Linx the next few days. Founded in 1975, the Aero
Space Museum is located in Calgary.
"We are not taking the stance that we put on a perfect air
show. There’s always room for improvement in anything you do,
and we’re looking to make sure nothing like this happens ever
again."
