Says Planemaker Did Not Inform Investigators About What It Intended To Say
The NTSB is reportedly unhappy with Boeing officials over the planemakers' March 15 briefing held in Japan outlining plans to get the airplane flying again. In a letter dated Thursday, NTSB General Counsel David Tochen told Boeing officials that the plans discussed at the briefing were "inconsistent with our expectations" about the potential fix.

Pilot, Passenger Fatally Injured When Piper Cheyenne Went Down During Departure
The NTSB's preliminary report from an accident in Fort Lauderdale, FL, involving a Piper Cheyenne indicates that the pilot of the airplane declared an emergency just after takeoff from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE), but did not indicate the nature of the emergency. The pilot and two passengers aboard the aircraft were fatally injured when the airplane wend down in an auto impound lot near the airport.

The FAA has issued an SAIB (Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin) that will affect airplanes equipped with W31 series switch style circuit breakers (SSCB) manufactured by Tyco or Potter Brumfield. There have been known continued failures of these SSCBs on Cessna Aircraft Company airplanes and Beechcraft Corporation (formerly known as Hawker Beechcraft Corporation) airplanes. These circuit breaker switches may also be installed on other type certificated airplanes as well as homebuilt airplanes.
