New Options Available For Helicopter Student Funding

Meritize And HAA Partner To Offer Innovative Scholarship

Helicopter and airplane flight training school Hillsboro Aero Academy reveals its expanded partnership with Meritize, a developer of funding solutions for skills-based education and workforce development. The program is now set to include a loan program for helicopter students. Previously, Meritize’s program had only been available to HAA’s airplane students. Under the Meritize Loan, credit can be given for merit and has the potential to improve their loan options if they share their military experience and academic history. Approved candidates can have access to a potential full deferment option during school in addition to being approved for certain additional products.

NTSB Prelim: Cessna 150

Multiple Witnesses Reported That They Observed The Airplane In A Descending Turn

On July 30, 2021, about 0924, a Cessna 150 airplane, N8520G, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Banning, California. The pilot and passenger were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. A witness, located at the Banning Airport (BNG), reported hearing the airplane in the traffic pattern practicing touch-and-go landings. Multiple witnesses reported that they observed the airplane in a descending turn, however, none of the witness observed the airplane impact terrain.
