"Until they are home."
Source: The motto of the Joint POW/MIA
Accounting Command, tasked with the unenviable duty of identifying
remains of lost soldiers -- including the body of Airman Leo
Mustonen, who was lost in a training accident in November 1942.
Mustonen's frozen body was discovered 63 years later on
California's Mount Mendal glacier, and scientists at JPAC
positively identified his remains from DNA evidence and
physical similarities last week. Thanks to their efforts, Mustonen
will soon return home to Minnesota, where he will be buried near
his mother and father.
