Swedish Medevac PC-24 Completes Successful Maiden Flight

First Of Six PC-24s For The Swedish Air Ambulance Organisation

The first of six PC-24s for the Swedish Air Ambulance Organisation took off from Buochs Airport for its maiden flight on 22 July 2020. Sporting the national colours of Sweden – blue and yellow – the Super Versatile Jet will cut a dash across Swedish skies. Less than a year after the agreement between the Kommunalförbundet Svenskt Ambulansflyg (KSA) and Pilatus was signed, the maiden flight of the first Swedish medevac PC-24 marks an important milestone in the programme.

Pipistrel has had a great year in terms of new airplane orders and in the flight training arena. That was the message expressed by Michael Coates, Master Distributor for Pipistrel USA, when he spoke with Aero-New Editor-in-Chief Jim Campbell at AirVenture 2019. When it comes to the electric airplane segment, Coates says the U.S. is "dragging its feet a little bit" in the certification of such aircraft. Such aircraft have been accepted and are flying in other countries, and Coates feels they would be ideal for the U.S. Flight Training market

Textron Reports Disappointing Numbers From 2Q/20

Textron Aviation Revenues Of $747 Million, Were Down $376 Million

With various companies reporting results from their second quarter, this year's batch has given few corporate boards much to be happy about. Textron Aviation is no exception. Revenues at Textron Aviation of $747 million were down $376 million from the second quarter of 2019, primarily due to lower Citation jet volume of $178 million, reflecting a decline in demand related to the pandemic and to a lesser extent, delays in the acceptance of aircraft related to COVID-19 travel restrictions, and lower aftermarket volume of $120 million, reflecting lower aircraft utilization.
