AMFA (the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association) tells ANN
that Northwest Airlines recently surrendered its FAA Part 145
repair station certificate in order to avoid having it revoked by
the FAA.
The head of the nation's largest airline pilot union has told
Congress that a proposal to loosen Department of Transportation
rules on foreign control of U.S. airlines would violate federal
law, usurp Congress' authority in setting such policies, and strike
yet another blow against airline workers.
Boeing has announced that it will cease operations at its
facility located in Melbourne, Ark. Boeing expects to complete the
closure of the facility sometime in the second quarter of this
year.

pilot's union says Delta is pushing a US Bankruptcy Court to allow
them to end an employee pension plan, and that contract
negotiations continue to sour.

life came to an end Wednesday, on a United Airlines flight from
Washington, DC to Los Angeles.
