We are sorry to say that another member of the group known as the Tuskegee Airmen has gone west. Dabney Montgomery, a ground crewman who was stationed in Italy with the Tuskegee Airmen in World War-Two has succumbed at the age of 93. Montgomery, born in Selma, Alabama in 1923, was inducted into the service in 1943. While it’s common for the pilots of the Tuskegee Airmen unit to be spoken of the most, it must be remembered that like all units who fought in the war, the pilots could not have been successful without the crews that supported them.
