OneWeb Confirms Contact With All 36 Satellites

OneWeb has confirmed the latest successful launch of 36 satellites by Arianespace from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. This launch brings OneWeb a step closer to completing its 'Five to 50' ambition and the possible start of commercial service by the end of the year. Liftoff occurred on 28 May at 18:38 BST. OneWeb's satellites separated from the rocket and were dispensed in nine batches over a period of 3 hours 52 minutes with signal acquisition on all 36 satellites confirmed.

Both Ab Initio And Rotary Wing Add-On Training Available

Universal Helicopters (UHI) has embarked on a new venture with Bell to deliver Bell 505 training to pilots across the U.S. and from around the world. New pilots can receive ab initio and rotary wing add-on training in the new Jet Ranger X at various UHI locations, including their Scottsdale and Prescott Arizona locations. McRobie Donated His Personal Aircraft To The University This Spring

Fairmont State University and the Fairmont State Aviation Center of Excellence honored Fairmont native and donor to the University, David McRobie, recently. McRobie donated his personal aircraft to the University this spring, expanding the aviation program's fleet along with its capacity for training aspiring pilots. The exchange was made under one condition presented by McRobie; the aircraft would spend the entirety of its operating life training students to fly. McRobie made his grand entrance when he was flown in from the Fairmont Airport in the aircraft to be dedicated, then the plane was taxied into the hangar to launch the event program. 

Those Who Are Not Fully Vaccinated Must Continue To Wear Masks Inside The Museum

In support of updated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, fully vaccinated visitors (who are at least two weeks beyond their final dose) will no longer be required to wear masks when visiting the National Museum of the US Air Force. Those who are not fully vaccinated must continue to wear masks inside the museum. Visitors will not be asked by museum officials to prove their vaccination status, and those who wish to continue wearing masks may still do so. In addition, cleaning procedures, sneeze guards at volunteer and cashier desks, and hand sanitizer stations will remain in place throughout the museum.

On May 9, 2021, about 1440 Alaska daylight time, an Enstrom F-28F, N8627J, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Palmer, Alaska. The pilot and two passengers were not injured. The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 sightseeing tour flight. The pilot reported that at about 1330 he took over as the pilot for Talahiem Air Service, who was providing helicopter tour flights for the Great Alaska Aviation Gathering that was taking place at the fairgrounds in Palmer. The pilot had fueled the helicopter with 25 gallons of fuel, performed a normal start-up, and he then engaged the belt clutch before the passe

AD 2021-10-09 Requires Removal, Inspection, And Replacement Of The Affected HPT Inner Stationary Seal

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all CFM International, S.A. (CFM) CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B model turbofan engines with a certain high-pressure turbine (HPT) inner stationary seal installed. This AD was prompted by cracks found in the rotating air HPT front seal. This AD requires removal, inspection, and replacement of the affected HPT inner stationary seal and, depending on the findings, replacement of the rotating air HPT front seal, HPT rotor blades, and No. 3 ball bearing. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective June 24, 2021.
