Aero-TV: Avionics Tip of the Week - Avidyne Rel9, Loading a Flight Plan

Mike Glover Offers Avidyne Entegra Release 9 Usability Tips

Mike Glover, Director of OEM and Strategic Alliances at Avidyne, chatted with Aero-TV about his most helpful avionics tips relating to the all-new Entegra FMS900w Flight Management System, part of the Avidyne Release Flight Deck.

In the first of his four part series, Glover explains how to easily create, edit, and load a flight plan in the Integrated Flight Display (IFD) panel. Developed to be fully-integrated with the all-digital WAAS Gamma 3 CNS suite, the FMS900w offers a manageable solution to developing a flight plan with ease and efficiency.

The new technology, termed “GeoFill,” predicts the next leg or waypoint based on proximity to the aircraft’s current location rather than displaying the alphabetical order within the database.  This intuitive selection process allows a pilot to quickly select the proper entry without the need to rifle through obvious incorrect selection choices.
