Zenith Aviation Acquires Dornier 328 Assets

Acquisition From Comtran And Jetran International Includes STC For A Dornier 328 12-Seat Executive Interior

Zenith Aviation, an industry-leading aircraft parts supply and logistics support company, in partnership with Gordon Brothers Commercial and Industrial, has acquired a large quantity of the Dornier 328 jet aircraft assets from Comtran and Jetran International.

The assets acquired include two Dornier 328-310 aircraft heavy weight jets, six Pratt & Whitney 306B engines, two sets of Dornier 328-310 heavy weight landing gear, a complete 12-seat executive interior together with the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for that interior, and over 2,000 line items of rotable parts.  The parts will reside in Zenith’s Fredericksburg, Virginia climate-controlled warehouse, which provides state-of-the-art computer automated storage and retrieval systems that can pick a part in less than 60 seconds with a 99 percent accuracy rate.

“This purchase continues and strengthens Zenith’s commitment to serving commercial and executive operators worldwide,” said Bob Stanford, President and CEO of Zenith.

Zenith Aviation was formed in 2002 when the company was awarded the exclusive marketing and distribution rights for all spare parts for the out-of-production Dornier 328 regional airline aircraft, both the turbine-powered and turboprop models.

In 2012 Zenith invested more than $3 million to increase the size of its secure, climate-controlled warehouse, bringing the total size to 44,000 square feet, including a state-of-the-art parts automated inventory storage and retrieval system to improve storage capabilities and operational efficiencies.
