October Conference Will Focus On Rotorcraft Certification Standards

Safety, ADS-B, HTAWS, Flight Data Monitoring All On The Agenda

The first Rotorcraft Certification Summit is being planned for October 27th in Dallas, with organizers are expecting top executives from the rotorcraft industry to join key decision makers from regulatory agencies in discussing and debating improvements to certification procedures and needed revisions of the rotorcraft certification standards.

Attendees of the conference will learn about regulators’ drives to improve the safety and survivability of rotorcraft and industry’s collaboration with them to meet deadlines for new helicopter equipment, including ADS-B, radio altimeters, HTAWS, and flight data monitoring, the organizers say.

This Summit is intended to bring leaders of the agencies that are applying risk-based decision-making and the “safety continuum” concept to drafting, overseeing and interpreting certification standards and procedures together with the wide range of parties who have a financial stake in improving the rotorcraft certification process, though sometimes with competing interests.

Businesses that are impacted in any way by FAR Part/EASA CS/CAR 27 and 29 certification standards would benefit from  attending this summit, the organizers say. The Rotorcraft Strategy Summit represents a "prime opportunity to secure a seat at the table for yourself and your personal business interests as these essential issues and changes are being discussed."
