Spirit Airlines Halts Flights To Five Northeast Airports

All Flights To New York, Connecticut, And New Jersey Suspended

Spirit Airlines has suspended flights to five northeast airports in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The affected airports include New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Niagara Falls and Plattsburgh, as well as Connecticut’s Hartford airport and Newark International Airport in New Jersey. The suspension lasts at least through May 4, according to a report from Fox News.

In a statement, the airline said that taking care of guests and team members "continues to be our number one priority as we navigate these unprecedented times. Guests booked on these flights will receive emails notifying them of the change and explaining their options."

The move follows a new CDC travel advisory warning issued on Saturday. The advisory warned against all non-essential travel to the New York tri-state region for at least 14 days.
