The Diamond DA62 has received its EASA Type certificate.

After a sunny and warm day Wednesday, the "Sun" portion of "Sun 'n Fun" was kind of scarce on Thursday, but off-and-on rainshowers, and even the occasional thunderstorm, didn't stop people from enjoying the show. Aspen announced the pricing for its Angle of Attack software at the show on Thursday, and ANN's Jim Campbell got a chance to fly with the company's new A-O-A indicator ... which will cost just under two-thousand dollars. That story will be coming up on Aero-TV soon. After a successful first flight on April 9th, Flight Design is set to expand its C4 flight test program. At a news conference at Sun 'n Fun, Matthias Betch, Managing Director of Flight Design, said that EASA's rules for early flight testing are somewhat different than the FAA's. An aircraft is given a "release to fly" with a very specific flight envelope for the first flight, he said, and the C4 was successfully run through all of the parameters listed on the release. Sporty's has updated and expanded its online video training catalog to include four new aircraft transition courses. The course titles are; So You Want to Fly Twins, So You Want to Fly Helicopters, So You Want to Fly Gliders, and So You Want to Fly Seaplanes. All this... and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
