Hunnu Air Brings Cessna Into Mongolian Market

Charter And Cargo Operator Orders 2 SkyCouriers, Grand Caravan EX

Textron Aviation announced that the Cessna SkyCourier is entering the Mongolian market thanks to charter and cargo operator Hunnu Air, who ordered two passenger variants of the twin-engine turboprop along with one Grand Caravan EX single-engine turboprop aircraft, with deliveries of the aircraft slated to begin next year.

Hunnu Air will deploy the aircraft as part of enhancing its domestic tourism and cargo operations within Mongolia. Hunnu has been a central player in the Mongolian aviation sector since 2011 and is committed to expanding its domestic and international air carrier operations. It is presently the second-largest airline in the country and has carved out a niche for itself with reliable and efficient air transportation for its passengers and cargo customers.

Lannie O’Bannion, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Textron Aviation said, "Designed for versatility and performance, the Cessna SkyCourier is a strong fit to support Hunnu Air’s services across Mongolia. The increasing global popularity of the aircraft underscores its exceptional adaptability in supporting air freight, charter and special missions use cases, showcasing its broad appeal across diverse operational sectors.”

The performance, capacity, and  reliability of the SkyCourier is well-suited for VIP operations across the vast and diverse high-altitude landscapes of Mongolia’s steppes, plateaus, mountains, and deserts. Hunnu will use them to provide greater access to remote and scenic destinations.

This is a strategic investment to reinforce Hunnu Air’s commitment to supporting Mongolia’s growing tourism and expanding air travel options.
