Grupo Aeromexico Finalizes Order For Boeing 737-8 MAX And 737-9 MAX Aircraft

The Contract Was Signed For The Purchase Of Up To 90 Aircraft Valued At Approximately $9 Billion

Grupo Aeromexico, S.A.B. DE C.V., has announced that the carrier has finalized a purchase agreement with Boeing Aircraft to purchase up to 90 Boeing 737 MAX narrow body aircraft. The order follows Aeromexico's Letter of Intent to purchase up to 100 aircraft as was announced on July 25, 2012. Of the 90 aircraft, 60 are firm deliveries with the ability to purchase an additional 30 aircraft, subject to reconfirmation by Grupo Aeromexico.

As was previously announced, these new aircraft are part of a new generation of planes that greatly improve passengers' travel experience by offering modernized cabins featuring enhanced comfort features including increased legroom and cutting-edge technology such as personal touch-screen entertainment systems, larger overhead bins and Boeing Sky Interior lighting systems. It is also estimated that the B737 MAX will reduce fuel and maintenance cost.

Monday's announcement supports Grupo Aeromexico's goal to maintain one of the youngest and most efficient fleets in the world. As part of the announcement made last July, Grupo Aeromexico expects to finalize its agreement for the purchase of 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which is expected to close in the coming weeks.

Aeromexico reaffirms its commitment to the Mexican aviation industry, as well as to ensuring its position as the nation's leading airline with the best fleet that delivers a world-class product to its customers and business partners.
