New Airborne Program Highlights News & Features Dedicated To Women in the Aviation/Aerospace Community
The Aero-News Network, the producer of aviation’s longest running Daily aviation video news program series, Airborne, is pleased to announce the addition of ‘Airborne-Aviatrix’ to this year’s upcoming production schedule.
It is the Airborne news team’s intention to produce innovative and compelling programming dedicated to the role of women in aviation and aerospace. Airborne-Aviatrix (AAx) will start as a weekly web news program produced under the Airborne programming mantra and will consist of stories, news and features about the important and under-reported role many of today’s women are playing in the Aero-Verse. The topic is so compelling that the potential for greater than weekly frequencies, as well as longer formats, are both significant – and anticipated. AAx will be produced by the Aero-News Network in partnership with a number of parties that will be announced at the 2018 AirVenture Fly-In in Oshkosh, WI.
The Airborne program series, part of ANN’s Aero-TV feature-set now spans over 4000 programs, 7000 podcasts and over 1400 distinct daily news programs – so far.
Programs will, initially, be distributed once a week in 6-8 minute durations, with 2 main stories/3 short stories per episode. Distribution will be undertaken via ANN, YouTube, Vimeo and dozens of web syndicators as well as authorized content partners.
The program has asked aviation entrepreneur and Airline Pilot, Abingdon Welch, to head our Advisory Board and serve as an Associate Producer to the effort.
Welch notes that, “I am very excited to be a part of this initiative. Flying is an amazing activity. One that everyone should be able to explore firsthand. With the low percentage of women in aviation, it’s up to all of us to give the experience to others. Every man and woman who has flown or built an airplane should share it with our daughters, sisters, wives, and girlfriends.
This series is important because seeing is believing. Women have made strides in the aviation and aerospace industries and this project’s focus is to showcase these women and what they’ve done for our industry. What this series will do for the young girls to the old women is show them females who are accomplishing incredible feats. To see stories of women in aviation will help change their belief system that aviation is not only for the boys, but also for the girls.”
Production will be undertaken by established ANN news staff and hosted by Airborne veteran Laura Hutson.
This effort is part of the Aero-News Network’s innovative 22 year campaign to modernize and disrupt news coverage of the aviation and aerospace communities. In that time, the network has published over 360,000 news and feature stories and led the industry with a slate of programming innovations that have changed the nature of aviation news the world over.
