Airbus Monitoring Coronavirus Spread

Releases Update On Company's Efforts To Continue Operations

Airbus is closely monitoring the evolution of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic across the globe and is assessing the situation, the impact on employees, customers, suppliers and the business.

Airbus is following WHO and local health authority guidance. In addition Airbus has updated its workplace safety and travel recommendations to employees, customers and to visitors, according to the latest developments.

Recommendations are being adopted on day to day behaviours relating to hygiene, social interaction, ill health reporting and travel to and from Airbus’ global sites.

On March 17th, Airbus decided to temporarily pause production and assembly activities at its French and Spanish sites across the Company for the next four days. This is meant to allow sufficient time to implement stringent health and safety conditions in terms of hygiene, cleaning and self-distancing,

"We are doing our utmost to support our employees who are affected by schools and child care closures by providing them with a maximum of flexibility in dealing with the situation. This includes enabling home office where possible, while at the same time ensuring business continuity at Airbus to meet customer commitments and complying with national regulations," the company said in a media release.

Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms must declare, seek medical advice and self quarantine if necessary, and Airbus is keeping all employees updated on the latest developments and recommendations.

The company has also put several travel restrictions in place:

  • Airbus employees are advised to restrict travel to business critical missions only and excluding trips to high risk regions.
  • Visits to Airbus from high risk regions are halted.
  • Employees having returned from any high risk regions must self-quarantine for 14 days.
  • Staff, customers and visitors must self declare their travel history

Airbus has implemented dedicated and robust monitoring to assess the potential impact of the Coronavirus situation on our business. The company remains in close contacts with its customers and suppliers, and are working together with them to minimize the impact of these measures on their operations.
