Named Vice President for Mooney Airplane Company

Mooney Airplane Company says it's named David J. Copeland Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

"We are pleased to welcome David to Mooney. He will be responsible for all sales and marketing functions as well as the product and customer support," Mooney President J. Nelson Happy. "David comes to us with 26 years of aviation industry experience having worked with Piper, Rockwell, Grumman, Cessna, Hawker and most recently, Beechcraft where he served as the Vice President of Worldwide Sales."

Copeland graduated from Wichita State University and is an Airline Transport Rated Pilot with over 4,900 hours. David has both domestic and international experience and brings a track record of success to Mooney. "My goal is to exceed the level of expectation of every Mooney owner and customer, Mooney has a great history of producing the fastest most efficient and safest aircraft in the industry," Copeland stated.

David comes from a flying family that is well known in the aviation circle. The Copeland Family has represented several general aviation manufactures while owning an airport and FBO operation in Wichita (KS). David's father taught him to fly and his mother was also an accomplished aviator known for her work with the 99's and air racing. David is married to wife Kelli and they have three boys.

Nicolas Chabbert, formerly Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing, has accepted a new assignment as Vice President of Business Development for Mooney.

"We are very pleased that Nicolas will be taking over the leadership of our business development activities. He has done a superb job in his prior position, but we believe that is important to have an executive of his talents in charge of our future products," said Happy.

"I am delighted that David Copeland has joined our sales and marketing team. I know that he will do an outstanding job based on his outstanding qualifications and experience," said Chabbert. "I will now be able to devote all of my time to researching and implementing the plan for Mooney's future products."
