Airborne 05.23.25: Global 8000, Qatar B747 Accepted, Aviation Merit Badge

Bombardier announced that the first production Global 8000 successfully completed its inaugural flight from its assembly center in Mississauga, Ontario. During the flight the aircraft performed a series of production test procedures and manipulation of all flight controls with test pilot Sandro Novelli at the controls. The Pentagon announced that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has accepted a Boeing 747 from Qatar that will be used by President Donald Trump after the Pentagon performs upgrades to include “proper security measures and functional mission requirements” according to a statement from the Department of Defense.

Germany To Romania Flight Took 7 Legs, Longest 185 Miles

Elektra Solar GmbH, a solar-powered aircraft developer based in Landsberg, Germany, announced that its Elektra Solar Trainer aircraft successfully completed a 900-mile (1,500 km) trip from southwestern Germany through Austria and Hungary, terminating in Brasov, Romania.

Pilot Told His Friend That The Airplane Had A Slight Rightturning Tendency When He Let Go Of The Control Stick

On May 4, 2025, about 1325 central daylight time, a Piper J3C-65 airplane, N98416 was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Wilson, Kansas. The pilot was fatally injured. The flight was operated under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as a personal flight. The accident airplane and another airplane, piloted by the pilot’s friend, departed Eck Field (SN64) near Goddard, Kansas, and proceeded to Lucas Airport (38K) in Lucas, Kansas, 94 nm southeast of SN64.
