The International Bureau of Aviation says that it sees positive
trends in the bizjet sector, but that there is still a lot of
previously-owned inventory on the market. That puts a lot of
leverage in the hands of those in the market for a business
jet.
FAA Seeks To Move More Aircraft Through Busy NE Corridor
The FAA is moving forward with plans for changing the routes
flown by commercial aircraft departing the three major airports in
the New York area, and activists are still working hard to put a
stop to those plans.
All Military Aviation Personnel Are Eligible To Apply
U.S. military personnel are eligible for A&P scholarships
through the AMTSociety. The total value of the scholarship is
estimated at more than $3,000, and the training encompasses
approximately two weeks.
A self-described pro-consumer grassroots effort calling itself
"We Won't Fly" is attempting to organizing mass x-ray scanner opt
outs at airports around the nation. They are calling the effort
"National Opt Out of the Airport Scanners Day," which is planned
for November 24.
China's state-owned Comac is showing off a full-sized model of
its C919 single aisle airliner at the Zhuhai Air Show this week.
China hopes the C919 will siphon off some of the single-aisle
airliner business from Boeing and Airbus.
Eglin Air Force Base had been scheduled to receive its first
F-35 Lightning II aircraft this month, but the Air Force quietly
pushed that date back by about a year, according to officials.
Japanese carrier Skymark Airlines has signed a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the purchase of four A380s. The
aircraft will be operated on major international long-haul routes
from Tokyo. Engine choice and cabin details will be revealed at a
later stage.

The Yavapai County, AZ Board of Supervisors is set to consider
whether to settle a lawsuit stemming from an accident in 2006 in
which five people were fatally injured.
Trainer Goes From Basic Circuit Work To Formation Flying
The UK Ministry of Defence has signed a deal with Australian
based company, Virtual Simulation Systems (VSS) for the lease of a
Complete Aircrew Training System (CATS) for up to 3 years. The
system will be delivered to the Army Air Corps' 7 (Trg) Regt AAC at
the Famous WWII Airfield, Middle Wallop.

EASA reportedly revised its inspection standards for the
Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine three months before one
catastrophically failed on a Qantas A380, forcing an emergency
landing in Singapore recently.
Gulfstream said Monday that it will expand its Savannah
facilities through a $500-million, seven-year plan to ensure that
the company is well-positioned to meet future demand for
business-jet aircraft and support services. The growth is expected
to result in 1,000 additional jobs.
