FAA Certifies Boeing Tactical Surveillance Aircraft

STC Clears The Way For International Demonstrations, Sales

The FAA has granted an STC to Boeing for its Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System Risk Reduction Prototype (ERRP), meaning the planemaker can now begin offering the aircraft to global customers.

“ERRP’s FAA certification gives us another approved modification in Boeing’s growing family of ISR airplanes,” John Rader, vice president of Electronic and Sensor Solutions, said in a news release. “ERRP is a high-end signals intelligence aircraft that delivers near-real-time SIGINT to the warfighter, a capability in high demand from militaries around the globe.”

In addition to ERRP, the Boeing family of modified Beechcraft King Air ISR aircraft also includes the Reconfigurable Airborne Multi-Intelligence and Surveillance (RAMIS) aircraft, which has also received both FAA flight and STC certification.
