'Game Of Thrones' Actress Takes BA To Task

Maisie Williams Miffed About Being Denied Access To British Airways Business Lounge

Actress Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on the HBO series 'Game of Thrones', got into a Twitter Snit with British Airways recently after being denied entry to the airline's business lounge.

The actress is 17, and BA's rules for the lounge require someone to be 18 to enter, or be accompanied by an adult.

As is often the case these days, Williams took to social media to express her displeasure. "Denied from the business lounge once again for being under 18 and without an adult.. @British_Airways sort your s**t out," she Tweeted. Another post followed: "I'm not saying I deserve special treatment. Just saying if 16-18 yr olds are grown up enough to travel 5,400 miles around the world.. I'm sure we can handle sitting quietly in the damn lounge."

CNN reports that British Airways Tweeted back to the actress that the policy is based on the availability of complimentary alcohol in the lounge. Because they serve drinks, "we can only admit passengers over 18yrs" they said. Williams said she understood the policy, but why a 17-year-old was allowed to travel alone but not enter the lounge.

British Airways said the "look forward to welcoming you soon" to the lounge. The actress will turn 18 on April 15th next year.
