Piper Receives FAA TC For G1000 In Archer Models

Will Be Available In Airplanes Delivered This Year

Piper Aircraft has received Type Certificate approval from the FAA to incorporate the Garmin G1000 avionics suite into new single-engine Piper Archer aircraft models available in 2013. Initial fleet customers for the new Garmin G1000-equipped Piper Archers include the Florida Institute of Technology and CAE Oxford Aviation Academy.

The total number of Certified Aviation Managers (CAMs) working in business aviation passed 200 this month with the certification of four new CAMs, according to the NBAA. Established by NBAA in 2003, the CAM credential recognizes professionals qualified for leadership roles in aviation through experience and training requirements, independent testing and certification.
