A new factory refurbishment program dubbed “Total
Eclipse” was rolled out Monday by Eclipse Aerospace. The
Total Eclipse program marks the completion of the final design of
the original EA500 aircraft.

UK Ministry of Defence has awarded AgustaWestland a $62.5
million contract extension for the upgrade of 10 more British Army
Lynx Mk.9 helicopters with LHTEC CTS800-4N engines. The contract
was announced Thursday by Quentin Davies MP, Minister for Defence
Equipment and Support.

Greg Combet announced Monday the Defence Materiel Organization
(DMO) has signed a contract with the US Army Security Assistance

Boeing has completed the ultimate-load wing up-bending test on
the 787 Dreamliner static test unit. During the testing, loads were
applied to the airframe to replicate 150 percent of the most
extreme forces the airplane is ever expected to experience while in
service. The wings were flexed upward by approximately 25 feet (7.6
meters) during the test.

CAV Aerospace tells ANN that they will begin retrofits of Cessna
208B Grand Caravan in a matter of days. New production Cessna
Caravans began receiving TKS upgrades in 2008, when Cessna made the
switch from pneumatic boots to the TKS system.

Boeing delivered the 79th and final upgraded CF-18 Hornet
aircraft to the Canadian Department of National Defence during a
ceremony in Mirabel, Quebec on Thursday, hosted by industry partner
L-3 Communications MAS, who performed final upgrade
installations.
The pilot leadership at Mesa Air Group,
represented by ALPA, has elected new officers. Now serving on the
Master Executive Council (MEC) are Captain Angelo Matziaris as the
chairman, First Officer Marcin Kolodziejczyk as the vice chairman,
and Captain Derek Latimer re-elected as the
secretary-treasurer.

The Aircraft Icing Research Alliance (AIRA) was created by
Canadian and US partners with the purpose of increasing the degree
of coordination in aircraft icing research, especially research
collaborations among the AIRA signatories (The National Aeronautics
and Space Administration (NASA), Transport Canada (TC), Environment
Canada (EC) and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC).
“We are committed to working collaboratively with
management to meet the needs of our pilots, as well as those of the
company, in order to reestablish Mesa Air Group as a viable
airline. This is no time for games, and we will not tolerate
ineptitude.”
