Daher, TotalEnergies, and Groupe ADP Reducing Carbon Emissions
A collaboration consisting of Daher, TotalEnergies, and Groupe ADP has come together to distribute a blended sustainable aviation fuel at the Paris-Saclay-Versailles Airport (ICAO: LFPN, IATA: TNF), formerly known as Aerodrome de Toussus-le-Noble.
TotalEnergies has distributed fuel on the general aviation airport near Versailles and 20 km southwest of Paris for more than 50 years. In addition to the SAF and standard aviation fuel, it also offers electric charging stations for both light aircraft and its ground vehicles. The airport supports decarbonization efforts for general aviation and is part of a group of airports under the ownership and management of Aeroports de Paris (ADP).
The SAF being offered is a by-product of waste and residue comprising up to 35% of a blended mixture with standard kerosene. The blended material does not require any modification of aircraft, distribution infrastructure, or fueling operations. It reduces life-cycle CO2 emission by about 30% compared to standard avfuel.
Most readers probably know Daher as the France-based manufacturer of the TBM and Kodiak turboprop aircraft used by many businesses worldwide. They are very supportive of the SAF efforts being taken at this airport and elsewhere.
As Nicolas Chabbert, CEO of the Daher Aircraft division said, “This provision of Sustainable Aviation Fuel at Paris-Saclay-Versailles Airport, where we have one of our main maintenance bases in France, is an important step for the promotion of these fuels to our customers. Since 2022, we have been using the mixture of Jet A-1 and SAF on our TBM and Kodiak aircraft for flight operations at our French industrial site in Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées, or at airports where it is available. Daher is strongly committed to the transition towards carbon neutrality by 2050.”
