A 16-year-old Civil Air Patrol cadet received the highest CAP
cadet honor from the Air Force chief of staff during a Pentagon
ceremony, May 11. Recognizing Cadet Col. Katrina Litchford with the
General Carl. A. Spaatz Award, Gen. T. Michael Moseley said,
“I am pleased to be able to present this certificate with
General Spaatz’s name on it to the top cadet of the Civil Air
Patrol.”
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has
received an FAA grant to begin work on the Long-Term Air
Transportation Study (LATS). Authorized by the Legislature, LATS is
a three-year comprehensive airport system study to guide future
investments in Washington’s public use airports.

Bombardier Aerospace has signed up Japan Air Commuter (JAC), a
team member of Japan Airlines (JAL) Group, for an eleventh
Bombardier Q400 high-speed turboprop airliner. Based in Kagoshima,
JAC is Japan’s largest regional airline and carried 1.44
million passengers in its 2005 fiscal year.
The Helicopter Association International
has announced new course offerings related to their
Professional Education Series. This summer, HAI will be taking
three of their courses “on the road” to Ontario,
California, beginning July 11, 2006.

Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) on the proposed relocation of
the Panama City - Bay County International Airport.
