Prospective owners and invited guests were treated to a
ceremonial first flight of the Cessna Citation Mustang Friday amid
a party atmosphere. The "BBJ" (Baby Business Jet) has already flown
50 hours since April 23, 2005 when the true first flight
occurred.
Four short weeks until AirVenture, you've got new products, new
services, new ideas, and you want everyone to know about it. But
with such a large event, how can you get noticed?
Machinists in Wichita voted Saturday to accept the latest
five-year labor offer from Mid-Western Aircraft Systems by a large
majority. Eighty-nine percent of members voting decided in favor of
the new contract.
The NTSB preliminary report indicates the co-pilot of the US
Airways 737 may have prevented an accident that surely would have
killed hundreds of people. The near miss that occurred on June 9th
between the US Airways jet and an Aer Lingus A330 was caused by
controller error.
Bell Helicopter submitted a bid Friday to build a militarized
version of its Bell 407 single engine light helicopter in response
to a Request For Proposal issued by the U.S. Army for an Armed
Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH).
National Transportation Safety Board Judge Patrick Geraghty
ordered Robert Curt Hatch's pilot license to be suspended for five
months for operating an aircraft in a "reckless" manner. Hatch
landed a malfunctioning Piper PA-28RT-201T, N2920C on a busy
freeway April 13, 2004, seriously injuring an eleven-year-old
girl.
Gay Wilson was sentenced to five years in federal prison Friday
for writing a bomb note and interfering with a flight crew. US
District Court Judge Todd J. Campbell declined her request to
withdraw from the plea agreement that Wilson had accepted in
March.
