Former American Airlines Aircraft Sold to AAR Supply Chain

Collection of 9 757-200s Will Join AAR’s Stock of Parts

AAR Corporation's subsidiary AAR Supply Chain will purchase 9 Boeing 757-200 formerly operated by American Airlines.

The aircraft will come equipped with 18 Rolls-Royce RB211 engines, allowing AAR to bolster its supply of spare parts for the series. AAR Supply Chain provides spare parts for airframes, engines, and logistical equipment for commercial and defense operators around the world. The influx of RB211 parts will rgo to keep other aircraft flying, as well as putting high-quality equipment back to work wherever it can. For operators of the 757, it's good news, particularly given the model's outsized presence in the air cargo industry. The news was good enough to push Boeing stock to a modest 3-day increase.

“The acquisition of these aircraft and engines will enable AAR to continue to support the RB211-powered 757 cargo market,” said Brian Salvatori, AAR’s Vice President of Asset Trading.
