U.S. Army Aviation Regiment Honored

Hail the Conquering Night Stalkers!

For their participation in four different operations between 2019 and 2022, members of the U.S. Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, known as the Night Stalkers, were recognized during a 16 February 2023 ceremony at Kentucky’s Fort Campbell. The storied unit provides aviation support to special operators throughout the U.S. military, and has participated in high-stakes missions such as the 2011 Abbottabad, Pakistan raid in which Osama Bin Laden was killed.

Man Arrested After Threatening Flight School

Connecticut State Police report an Oxford man who allegedly threatened violence against the Stratford School for Aviation and its students has been arrested. Joseph Cyr, 31, was charged with threatening and breach of peace, both in the second degree, following Connecticut State troopers’ investigation of a complaint made against him on 17 February 2023.

Aero Linx: F-35A Lightning II

The F-35A is the U.S. Air Force’s latest fifth-generation fighter. It will replace the U.S. Air Force’s aging fleet of F-16 Fighting Falcons and A-10 Thunderbolt II’s, which have been the primary fighter aircraft for more than 20 years, and bring with it an enhanced capability to survive in the advanced threat environment in which it was designed to operate. ANN's Daily Aero-Term (02.27.23): Fuel Remaining

Fuel Remaining A phrase used by either pilots or controllers when relating to the fuel remaining on board until actual fuel exhaustion. When transmitting such information in response to either a controller question or pilot initiated cautionary advisory to air traffic control, pilots will state the APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF MINUTES the flight can continue with the fuel remaining. All reserve fuel SHOULD BE INCLUDED in the time stated, as should an allowance for established fuel gauge system error.
