Four-Phase Program Hopes To Add To Freighters Capability
The USAF's C-17 Integrated Test Force at Edwards Air Force Base,
CA is in the midst of a four-phase test program to chart the
aircraft's takeoff and landing performance on non-paved
surfaces.
In a move reflective of the adage one must choose one's battles
carefully, Phoenix city Councilman Dave Siebert struck plans for an
aviation museum from the council's agenda.
A new five-year trade pact between China and Pakistan includes
an agreement to co-develop military aircraft including Airborne
Warning and Control Systems (AWACS).
The FAA has chosen Barnstable Municipal Airport (HYA) in
Barnstable, MA for its next airport audit. Airport manager Quincy
"Doc" Mosby says it's likely related to a civil suit pending
against the town of Barnstable.
Here's a little addition to FAR Part 61, Pilot, Flight
Instructors and Ground Instructors, that you may not have noticed
when it appeared in the last few years...
The condition in which the apparent effect of gravity is zero, as
in the case of a body in free fall or in orbit. Also, cool new way

"Through semi-prepared runway operations testing and weighing
the aircraft after the take-offs and landings, we've seen anywhere
from 1,200 to 1,500 additional pounds of dirt collected in the
aircraft. We've seen enough dirt collect in the wheel wells to
where it was eight to 10 inches in depth."
