Tentative Agreement Reached For Southwest Airlines' Mechanics

Vote On The Tentative Contract Expected 'Soon'

The Mechanics and Related Employees at Southwest Airlines will soon have the opportunity to vote on a new contract, as a Tentative Agreement has been reached with the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA).

"Both parties worked hard to reach an agreement that rewards our Mechanics and protects the future of our Company," said Vice President of Labor Relations Russell McCrady. "Our Mechanics do an outstanding job of keeping our fleet maintained and safe. This agreement gives them well-earned compensation increases and gives the Company additional flexibilities."

AMFA will communicate directly to the 2,400 Mechanics and Related Employees about the ratification process. If the agreement is approved, the contract will become amendable August 16, 2024.
