Airline Expands Fleet To Support Additional Destinations

Emirates has received its first A350-900 aircraft, signaling the start of its fleet expansion and ongoing partnership with Airbus.

This aircraft is the first of 65 A350-900s ordered by Emirates that will enhance Emirates' medium and long-haul operations and also support Dubai's Economic Agenda, which aims to connect 400 more cities to Dubai’s foreign trade network within the next decade.

The aircraft will also play a key role in the establishment of the Dubai World Central (DWC) mega hub and further strengthen Dubai’s global aviation role.

The A350 features a 312-seat cabin with 32 business, 21 premium economy, and 259 economy seats. It will also be the first Middle Eastern airline to feature Airbus' new HBCplus satcom system that offers high-speed global connectivity.

The A350 is an efficient and leading wide-body aircraft in the 310-400 seat class. With a clean-sheet design that includes state-of-the-art aerodynamics, technologies, and lightweight materials. The A350 also has the latest engines that are 25% more fuel-efficient with lower operating costs and CO? emissions compared to older aircraft. It also offers a quieter cabin with a 50% lower acoustic signature.

The A350 can operate on up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Airbus is aiming for 100% SAF compatibility by 2030.

As of October 2024, the A350 family has received over 1,340 orders from 60 customers worldwide.
