Transport Canada Has Released An Approved Model List For SkyNode, IONode

Latitude Technologies (Latitude) announced that the company has received a Transport Canada AML (Approved Model List) STC for the SkyNode S200 aeronautical data and voice transceiver for installation in all 853 Part 23 category aircraft. The STC also certifies Latitude's IONode ION100 advanced data acquisition unit for the same Part 23 aircraft types. This is the second approved equipment AML STC earned by Latitude for aircraft under 12,500 lb., following the SkyNode S100 AML STC that Latitude received in February 2011.

"Achieving certification for the IONode and the SkyNode S200 encompassing all light utility and commuter airplanes, is an important accommodation for the thousands of Latitude customers interested in improving flight safety and operational efficiencies with our comprehensive flight data management solution. We will be announcing further STCs for rotary aircraft in the coming weeks," said Latitude President Mark Insley.

The company says the IONode is the industry's first lightweight flight data recorder and advanced data acquisition unit, capable of real-time event and exceedance alerts and automated post-flight wireless data transfer. SkyNode and IONode STCs are available for hundreds of airframes.
