'Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue' Interactive Display Touring This Summer

Film Opens In Theaters In July

Attendees at select air shows across the country, including the American Heroes Air Show, will have a chance to see some of the exciting elements from "Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue.” The movie will come to life with a colorful interactive display that is loaded with activities.

The display will feature games like “Smoke Jumpers Supply Drop” to test the skills of children of all ages, along with stickers, tattoos, coloring sheets and more, featuring characters from the big-screen adventure, which hits theaters July 18, 2014.

The American Heroes Air Show is one of only a few chosen air shows to host the display. “The interactive Disney display is a wonderful family attraction,” said James Paules, Volunteer Event Director. “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to share this experience, featuring Dusty and the exciting new characters from “Planes: Fire & Rescue” with fans of all ages.”

“We kept the aviation community top of mind as we developed “Planes: Fire & Rescue,” wanting to create authentic, realistic flight,” said director Bobs Gannaway.  “We do a lot of research about the aircraft we feature, the speeds they can travel and the maneuvers they can do. We have flight experts and consultants like legendary Chuck Aaron on our team to make sure the end result is both authentic and fun to watch.”

“Planes: Fire & Rescue” is a new comedy-adventure about second chances, featuring a dynamic crew of elite firefighting aircraft devoted to protecting historic Piston Peak National Park from raging wildfire. When world famous air racer Dusty (voice of Dane Cook) learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting.

Dusty joins forces with veteran fire-and-rescue helicopter Blade Ranger (voice of Ed Harris) and his courageous team, including spirited air tanker Dipper (voice of Julie Bowen), heavy-lift helicopter Windlifter (voice of Wes Studi), ex-military transport Cabbie (voice of Captain Dale Dye) and a lively bunch of brave all-terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers. Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero.

The American Heroes Air Show is the nation’s premier admission-free, helicopter-only aviation experience designed to profile the unique capabilities of helicopters in fire suppression, law enforcement, national defense and homeland security.
