Alliance For Aviation Across America Cheers ATC Modernization Plan

Industry Universally Behind Secretary Duffy’s Proposal

The Alliance for Aviation Across America released a statement standing behind Department of Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy’s plan to invest in completely overhauling the country’s air traffic control system including hardware, software, technology, facilities, and communications.

The Alliance wholeheartedly endorsed the plan put forth by the DOT and said it is a critical step to ensure the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the national airspace system.

Devin Osting, interim executive director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America, said in his statement:

“We fully support the Department of Transportation’s commitment and consensus-based approach to modernize outdated ATC technologies and address the pressing need for increased air traffic controller staffing. These measures are essential to meet the growing demands of air transportation and to maintain the United States' leadership in aviation safety.

“Aviation is critical to our modern economy, and general aviation is especially important to rural regions and smaller communities across the country. General aviation supports an economic impact of $339 billion and 1.3 million American jobs, and plays a crucial role in emergency response, natural disaster relief, food production, operations for businesses of all sizes, and connecting communities.”

The Alliance was formed in 2017 and comprises a coalition of over 7,000 aviation professionals representing businesses, agricultural groups, FBOs, small airports, elected officials, charitable organizations, and leading aviation businesses and groups who support the interests of general aviation and its critical contributions to all of society across the country.
