Portland NBC Affiliate Selling Helicopter

Will Share An Aircraft With The Local Fox Station

A television station in Portland, OR is planning to sell its news-gathering helicopter and will enter into an agreement with a competitor to share the costs of a single aircraft.

NBC affiliate KGW has listed its helicopter for sale, according to the online source TVSpy.com. KGW news director Richard Jacobs told the site that the station will work with Fox affiliate KPTV, but would give no other details about the agreement, or the eventual fate of KGW's helicopter pilot.

The aircraft was first listed for sale in the fall with an asking price of $1.25 million.

The listing with Northwest Helicopters LLC describes the aircraft as "a one owner former ENG Bell 407. Sold in standard configuration with all ENG gear removed. Maintained by Bell CSF. Good times, well taken care of. Best price on the market for a nice 407."
