AEA 2008: Group Plans Three Int'l Meetings This Year

Meetings Start In Europe In May, End In Australia In November

If there's one primary theme the Aircraft Electronics Association would like its 2008 convention attendees to leave Washington, DC with, it's that AEA is a truly international organization, with members in 35 countries. To drive that point home further, AEA has plans for three international meetings before the end of 2008.

AEA will host its 22nd annual AEA Europe Meeting in May; its annual AEA Canada Meeting in September; and its 11th annual AEA South Pacific Meeting in November. AEA Regional Meetings also will take place this fall in the East, Central and West regions of the United States.

The AEA has announced the dates, deadlines and hotel information for all of it 2008 Regional Meetings, including:

  • AEA Europe Meeting: May 15-17, in Cologne, Germany. Meeting registrations will be accepted at AEA headquarters until May 2. An optional full-day training course will be offered May 15. Meeting hotel: Hyatt Regency Cologne; telephone: +49 (0)221 828 1234. Room rates: Single, 150,00 euros; double, 175,00 euros.
  • AEA Canada Meeting: September 3-5, in Calgary, Alberta. The deadline for early registration is Aug. 27. An optional full-day training course will be offered Sept. 3. Meeting hotel: Sheraton Cavalier Hotel; telephone: 403-291-0192. Room rates: Single or double, $159 CDN per night. Reserve rooms by Aug. 3.
  • AEA East Meeting: September 10-12, in Savannah, GA. The deadline for early registration is Sept. 5. An optional full-day training course will be offered Sept. 10. Meeting hotel: Hyatt Regency Hotel; telephone: 800-233-1234. Room rate: Single or double, $150 per night. Reserve rooms by Aug. 10.
  • AEA Central Meeting: September 24-26, in Kansas City, MO. The deadline for early registration is Sept. 19. An optional full-day training course will be offered Sept. 24. Meeting hotel: Embassy Suites at KCI; telephone: 816-891-7788. Room rates: Single or double, $134 per night. Reserve rooms by Aug. 24.
  • AEA West Meeting: October 22-24, in Reno. NV. The deadline for early registration is Oct. 17. An optional full-day training course will be offered Oct. 22. Meeting hotel: Grand Sierra Resort Hotel; telephone: 775-789-2000. Room rates: Single or double, $89 per night. Reserve rooms by Sept. 22.
  • AEA South Pacific Meeting: November 13-14, in Palm Cove, Queensland, Australia. The deadline for early registration is Nov. 5. Meeting hotel: Novatel Palm Cove Resort; telephone: 61-7-4039-9401. Room rates: Single or double, $109 AUD per night. Reserve rooms by Oct. 13.

The AEA also has set the dates and locations for its annual AEA International Convention & Trade Show through 2011:

  • 2009: Dallas, TX from April 1-4, at the Gaylord Texan Resort
  • 2010: Orlando, FL from April 7-10, at the Gaylord Palm Resort
  • 2011: Reno, NV from March 30-April 2, at the Grand Sierra Resort.
