AD: Socata

AD NUMBER: 2009-24-15

MANUFACTURER: SOCATA Model TBM 700 Airplanes
SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2009-24-15

SUMMARY: This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:

It was noticed on assembly line an elongation of bolts connecting power leads on R700 and R701 shunts. An incorrect tightening torque value is likely to be the cause of the elongation.
This condition, if left uncorrected could lead to heating, electrical arcing or smokes and could result in an in-flight loss of electrical power.  We are issuing this AD to require actions to correct the unsafe condition on these products.
