An indictment released Tuesday charges John Kimberling of
being part of a conspiracy to operate a charter jet without proper
documentation. Kimberling is accused of conspiring with the owners
of Platinum Jet Management to falsify paperwork showing the
company's aircraft carried less weight than they actually did.
The charges stem from a 2005 accident in which prosecutors say a
charter jet overloaded with fuel attempted to depart from Teterboro
Airport in New Jersey, but instead ran through a fence and across a
busy intersection before impacting a warehouse. 20 people were
injured in the accident.
Kimberling's attorney had no comment about the indictment.
