Saudi Cloud Seeding Program to Receive 5 King Airs

Textron has been awarded a contract by Fargo, North Dakota-based AvMet International LLC for the delivery of one Beechcraft King Air 360CHW (cargo door, heavy weight) and four Beechcraft King Air 260 twin-engine turboprop aircraft. The five King Airs will support a cloud-seeding program currently being undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology.

Honda Aircraft To Build New NC Plant

Honda Aircraft Company, the North Carolina-based aerospace subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and maker of the popular HA-420 HondaJet and HondaJet Elite II, has announced plans to build a new Greensboro plant, thereby bringing 280 new jobs to its home city over the next five-years. The project is funded, in part, by a $3.43-million job development investment grant pledged by the Tarheel State’s government.

Takeoff Hold Lights (THL)

The THL system is composed of in-pavement lighting in a double, longitudinal row of lights aligned either side of the runway centerline. The lights are focused toward the arrival end of the runway at the “line up and wait” point, and they extend for 1,500 feet in front of the holding aircraft. Illuminated red lights indicate to an aircraft in position for takeoff or rolling that it is unsafe to takeoff because the runway is occupied or about to be occupied by an aircraft or vehicle.
