Zelensky Vows to Remake An-225 Mriya

Tells Students that Next Aircraft Will be Memorial to Lost Aviators

The largest aircraft in the world, recently destroyed, may be returning sooner than originally expected, if off-the-cuff remarks made by the Ukrainian head of state are any indication. For a brief time, it appeared that the legendary An-225 could be built at a discount, as Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky made mention of an $800 million price tag for the aircraft's successor. Those who remember the vow made by Ukrainian aerospace corporation Ukroboronprom in February would recall a much higher price tag at the time: $3 billion, to start.

GrandSky, TruWeather And MeteoMatics Push For UAV Weather In North Dakota

GrandSky is a party to two multi-year contracts aimed at developing a weather collection and forecasting system for Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) operations. As is the case with most outdoor activities, weather represents one of the greatest risks, and it is more pronounced with small UAS that are no match for the harshness of nature. For UAS’, the risk is even greater for operations Beyond Visual Line Of Sight (BVLOS). Aero-News: Quote of the Day (05.26.22)

"This quarter's report is unique in the fact that year-over-year forward-fit sales jumped 34.6%, which coincides with increased airplane deliveries, and we simultaneously saw year-over-year retrofit sales decline 8.3%. Clearly, growing inflationary pressures and supply chain constraints are ongoing concerns, but to what extent they will impact sales numbers in these two markets this year is uncertain." Source: AEA President and CEO Mike Adamson, detailing the Aviation Electronics Association industry’s results of the 1st quarter of 2022, reporting that more than 634 million dollars’ worth of business and general aviation avionics were sold throughout the world.
