NTSB Releases Update On Jacksonville, FL Boeing 737 Runway Excursion

All Passengers And Crew Were Safely Evacuated From The Airplane

The NTSB has released an investigative update from the runway excursion which occurred at Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville (FL) (KNIP) May 3. The Boeing 737-800 operating as a charter flight from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba exited the runway and came to a stop in shallow water in the St. Johns River adjacent to the base.

A4A Projects Record-Setting Number Of Passengers For Summer 2019

More Than 257 Million Summer Travelers Expected To Fly, An All-Time High

Airlines for America (A4A) expects a record 257.4 million passengers — an average of 2.8 million per day — to travel on U.S. airlines between June 1 and Aug. 31, 2019. That number is up 3.4 percent from last summer's record 248.8 million passengers. Airlines are adding 111,000 seats per day to accommodate the additional 93,000 daily passengers expected during the summer travel period. This will be the 10th consecutive summer to see an increase in the number of U.S. airline passengers.
