Airborne-Unmanned 10.29.19: Norwegian Coastal Flight, Lilium Flies, Zipline Demo

Norway's Maritime Robotics announced that a Penguin B drone owned by the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment concluded a 200 kilometer flight in June, passing through several different types of controlled civil airspace. The flight demonstrated a new wireless data link technology using phased array antennas from Radionor Communications, as well as a lightweight transponder on the aircraft, all of which was integrated by Maritime Robotics. Lilium has released new footage of its all-electric Lilium Jet

BAA Breaks Ground On New Training Center In China

A groundbreaking ceremony was held October 25 beginning construction for BAA Training China, a modern six full flight simulator aviation training center. The center is being built under a Joint Venture agreement between Avia Solutions Group and Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company (HNCA) signed in July, 2019. As part of the agreement, the companies are moving to the new BAA Training training center in Zhengzhou city, Henan province (China).

StandardAero To Provide PT6A MRO Services For Cape Air

Regional Carrier Operates A Fleet Of Cessna Caravan Aircraft

Hyannis, MA-based regional airline Cape Air has selected StandardAero to provide engine support services for its fleet of Cessna Caravan aircraft. Under the agreement, StandardAero will provide Cape Air with Pratt & Whitney PT6A turboprop engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services from its network of overhaul facilities and service centers in North America.
