Will Power Carrier's Airbus A321neo Aircraft

TransAsia Airways has converted options for six A321neo aircraft with Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1100G-JM engines into firm orders. Pratt & Whitney will now power TransAsia's order of 12 firm A321neo aircraft. The deal includes a 10-year PureSolution maintenance service agreement for 27 engines, including spare engines. Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2017.

Three F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) aircraft were officially delivered to the U.S. Marine Corps during ceremonies at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, AZ, Tuesday. The three jets are assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121 residing with the host Marine Aircraft Group 13.

Remote Sensing Package Will Study Why Mars Largely Lost Its Atmosphere

A remote sensing instrument that will peer into the ultraviolet to offer clues to how Mars might have lost its atmosphere has arrived at Lockheed Martin for integration into NASA's Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) spacecraft.

But Their Evolution Has Been Very Different

A team of NASA scientists and their colleagues have found evidence from meteorites that Mars and Earth had a similar origin, but then the two planets evolved quite differently. Based on their analyses of two Martian meteorites, researchers in the Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science Directorate at NASA's Johnson Space Center have concluded that water in the Martian interior originated from planetary building blocks similar to those that formed Earth.

Just A Few Days Left For Hawaii Students To Submit Artwork That May Adorn A 737-800 Aircraft

School-aged children in Hawaii have just a few more days to submit their artwork for Alaska Airlines' statewide "Paint the Plane" contest. The contest is a partnership between the airline, Hawaii State Department of Education and the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools, and encourages students to create artwork honoring the unique culture of the Aloha State.
