Airplane Was On A Training Mission, Pilot Ejected Safely

An F-22 Raptor attached to Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida went down Thursday afternoon, causing a fire and closing a highway for about two hours. The pilot of the airplane was able to safely eject and was not seriously hurt, according to the Air Force.

First European Airline To Fly The New Airplane

Boeing and LOT Polish Airlines celebrated the delivery of the airline's first Boeing 787 Dreamliner Wednesday. The Polish carrier is the first European airline to take delivery of the 787. Senior LOT and Boeing executives, as well as Polish and US government officials, celebrated the historic delivery at an event at the Future of Flight Aviation Center in Mukilteo, WA, near Boeing's 787 final assembly plant in Everett.

After an extensive cooperative engagement, Jeppesen has successfully passed an EASA Operations Evaluation Board (OEB) review, clearing a major hurdle toward European airline use of Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro and Jeppesen Mobile TC Pro applications for iPad/iOS. This evaluation report is the first that EASA has ever granted for mobile electronic flight bag (EFB) with navigation charting.

US Airways Flight Attendants Conduct Nationwide Protest

Strike Vote Is Underway, Concludes November 20

US Airways flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), held protests at four airports across the country Wednesday after it says the airline's management failed to negotiate a single contract for over 6,700 flight attendants. The America West/US Airways merger of 2005 remains incomplete and flight attendants are still working under separate contracts, in separate operations.

Accreditation Culminates Five Years Of Aviation Education

The FAA has granted Part 141 certification to Airwold Aviation Services, making it the only public Part 141 certified flight school in the Upstate. The school has locations at the Greenville Downtown and Spartanburg Downtown Airports. “The accreditation recognizes the excellence of Airwolf’s training program and the quality of graduates they produce” said Adam Lockamy, Assistant Chief Flight Instructor of the school.

SilkAir has finalized an order with Boeing for 54 Next-Generation 737s and 737 MAX 8s worth $4.9 billion at list prices. With this agreement, the 737 MAX has accumulated 969 orders to date. SilkAir's order for 23 737-800s and 31 737 MAX 8s is the largest order in the airline's history and begins a fleet transition to Boeing airplanes.
