As previously noted (each year), we have this 'problem.' Each
April 1st we have a problem getting our stories straight... we make
things up, we get silly, we act weird (-er than normal...) we
exaggerate and lampoon... in other words, we act like the folks
that run Sun 'n Fun...
Fifty-six years is too long for the wreckage of a missing plane
to go undiscovered, say underwater search crews and amateur
historians who have launched an impressive effort to find the
remnants of Northwest Airlines Flight 2501. The DC-4 disappeared
over Lake Michigan in June 1950.
Score one for the little guy... and for a large pilots'
organization. After word got out last month regarding a proposed
ban on pilots under the age of 17 from flying in New York State,
pilots made their ire known to their state representatives. The
Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association reports they listened.
In a move intended to foster openness between the two countries,
Chinese military officials let the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs
of Staff examine their country's top-of-the-line combat aircraft at
a Chinese air base this week, and allowed him to speak with pilots
and ground personnel.

The US Air Force's Arnold Engineer Development Center (AEDC)
scientists and engineers are leading the way in finding solutions
on Earth to complex problems satellites can encounter in space.
It's the kind of problem that happens on any given day to an
airliner in regular service... but when you're talking about
Airbus' forthcoming A380 superjumbo, now undergoing a globe-crossing shakedown
flight, a leaking hydraulic hose turns into a much
bigger problem.
Mooney Airplane Company has announced the appointment of veteran
aviation executive Floyd W. Washburn, to the position of Vice
President of Programs & New Business.
ANN learned this week technology that could be used for an
"airport of the future" will be demonstrated March 27-28 at
Florida's Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) by an aviation
industry consortium led by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University,
Lockheed Martin, and the airport authority.
