Jeppesen Rolls Out Enhanced Flitedeck Pro For iPad

Automatic Display Of Airport Taxi Diagrams Among New Features Designed To Simplify Airline

Jeppesen now offers operators enhancements to its FliteDeck Pro electronic flight bag (EFB) solution for iPad.  The new FliteDeck Pro version now automatically displays airport taxi diagrams based on user-configured speed settings to enhance airline operational efficiency.

This switch to airport diagram display can occur directly from a STAR procedure, the enroute map or approach procedure to better support a variety of flying needs and requirements.  A new integrated distance measuring tool minimizes the need for pilot app interaction and calculates off-map position distance to improve situational awareness.

Additionally, FliteDeck Pro now includes an upgraded ability to preview and select charts as well as a two finger swipe function to navigate between selected charts.  A custom keyboard that supports FliteDeck Pro’s innovative night theme, multiple alternate options and the ability to save flights are part of the significant enhancements now offered for airline operators.

The enhanced FliteDeck Pro streamlines the use of navigational information for airlines, fractional business jet operators and military fleet programs.  FliteDeck Pro also enables significant weight savings and reduced fuel burn through regulatory authorization to remove paper content from the operation and improves safety through increased situational awareness.

“We continually interact with the pilot community to ensure that our solutions meet real-world operational needs and simplify complex processes for operators,” said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management.  “Reducing pilot workload and increasing operational efficiency are core components of our mobile program and FliteDeck Pro delivers measurable results for airlines through the convenience of iPad functionality.”

FliteDeck Pro delivers compressed and crystal clear vector-based Jeppesen terminal charts and data-driven enroute content, which is dynamically rendered and de-cluttered for the pilot’s current needs.  Full Jeppesen content is resident on the device, which eliminates the need for online connectivity while in the air.
