Aloft Technologies Announces Debut Of Clarity Aloft Pro Plus Headset

Will Be Introduced At NBAA In Orlando

Aloft Technologies, manufacturer of aviation headsets in use worldwide, announced the debut of their newest offering for the professional pilot, the Clarity Aloft Pro Plus, for its first introduction at the National Business Aircraft Association Convention in Orlando, Florida this week.  The Pro Plus headset is certified for use in commercial airliners by the Federal Aviation Administration under the newest guidelines for TSO certification, C-139a.

The Pro Plus headset is the fourth headset model offered to aviation enthusiasts by Aloft Technologies, using in-the-ear sound blocking technology and the second headset model with TSO certification. Aloft Technologies introduced their first TSO certified headset in 2007, the Clarity Aloft Pro Aviation Headset.

“The Pro PLUS headset raises the bar in comfort and hearing protection for the professional pilot,” said Bill Waterman, President and CEO of Aloft Technologies. “In the Pro Plus, we have included a more robust microphone style, more robust wiring and cabling.

“Aerobatic pilots have always enjoyed our headsets for their hard working characteristics in a challenging environment.  But we were not content to rest on our laurels.  We insist on continuous improvements to satisfy the most discriminating pilots," Waterman said. “Commercial and corporate pilots will enjoy the comfort, sound quality and noise abatement characteristics of this headset.  But this headset is not just for the professional pilot, but for any pilot wanting the combination of technology and lightweight advancements.”

Building upon 10 years of experience in providing quality headsets to pilots flying a wide variety of aircraft, from Gulfstreams to Bell helicopters,  Cessnas and Bonanzas, Clarity Aloft Headsets have demonstrated marketplace acceptance of in-the-ear style headsets.

When a United States commercial airline carrier writes the TSO requirement into its operating manual, then the pilots are obligated to use the equipment as specified.

To certify a headset to FAA TSO standards, the headset manufacturer must demonstrate the consistent performance of the headset over a wide range of conditions including high altitude, temperature extremes, electrostatic discharge immunity, and varying electronic environments found in aircraft.

Only headsets that are designed to meet these standards consistently and are made in FAA approved facilities receive this TSO certification.  The FAA also performs ongoing inspections of the manufacturing facility to ensure that the highest standards are being maintained.  This extensive testing provides assurance to the pilot that the headset will consistently perform in the very demanding airline environment.
